Are You Losing Business on Social Media? Here’s How to Fix That.

Oh, hey Reader

So, you’ve built a loyal following on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or X, but when it comes to turning likes into real sales, you’re stuck. Sound familiar?

Social media is a powerful tool, but it shouldn’t be your business’s home base.

Read on and discover:

  • Why relying solely on social platforms could be risky—and what to do instead 🕸️🕷️
  • A lil' present from me to you. Don't worry, you didn't have to get me anything 🎧💘

The Hidden Risks of Relying on Social Media Marketing

  • Ownership Issues 🚫
First, you don’t own your content (seriously). And because you’re not truly retaining your audience in any meaningful way, you could lose both the community and your data in an instant. Social platforms control your audience and can change the rules of engagement (like the algorithm) any time.
  • Limited Analytics 📉
Social media insights don’t give you the full picture of how users engage with your business.
  • Platform Overload 🔊
The competition for attention is fierce, and AI-generated content is making it even noisier. New content creation tools make it easy to create text, images, videos on a mass scale. Ever heard of “AI sludge”?
  • Disruption Danger 🛑
Your account gets hacked and you’re locked out, or (just, like, for example) your audience logs off or deletes their account altogether for reasons of conscience, that may or may not have something to do with the current political climate. Ahem.

Here's how to fix that ⬇️

Social Media + Landing Pages = Success

I’m not saying you should ditch social media entirely—yet. (Stay tuned for more on that. 😉) But rather than relying on social platforms to do all the heavy lifting, think of them as the top of your marketing funnel. Their job? To drive traffic. Your landing page’s job? To convert that traffic into real results.

A well-designed landing page guides visitors from casual interest to a clear action—whether it’s signing up for your newsletter, purchasing a service, or booking a call. Unlike social media, where distractions are everywhere, your landing page keeps the focus on what you want your audience to do next.

What's next?

Next time, I’ll show you exactly why your website is the best investment for your business and how it can turn visitors into paying customers. Stay tuned!

There’s this collective assumption that summer is a time of rest.Lighter schedules and long weekends. Hammocks and road trips. A loosening. And maybe for some people, that’s true. But for me, right now, that assumption couldn't be further from reality. With my four-year-old twins suddenly out of school, summer hasn’t opened up space, it’s compressed it. I’m working more, not less. I know I’m not alone. Every working parent I know is scrambling to do what was already too much, with fewer...

If I ask you to think about “loud” design vs. “listening” design, I’m curious what comes to mind. A “loud” design could be bold colours, aggressive fonts, attention-grabbing animations—all fighting for eyeballs in an increasingly noisy world. But what if the most compelling messaging actually starts with your mouth shut? You’ll see this everywhere once you start looking for it. An offline example: think about how much politicians love town halls… until someone asks an actual question. You...

You already know the risks of relying on "Big Social Media" for your marketing (algorithm changes, limited control, billionaire bros making the rules, your audience disappearing en masse—ugh). And let’s be real—social media was never built for businesses like yours. You’re out here to make an impact—to help your community, advocate for change, and grow something meaningful. You built an audience dedicated to this impact, but are you even reaching them? And what about the personal consequences...
